Australia’s, Cohen Brothers Racing, are ‘super excited’ to be joining the second half of the 2022 UIM F2 World Championship Series for the upcoming back-to-back races (Ribadouro Baião & Vila Velha de Ródão) in Portugal next month.
The family owned and operated team will bring their professionalism and passion for competition to the world stage which has been much anticipated and welcomed by the fellow F2 racing community. Brock had this to say
The UIM and F2 community have been extremely helpful in guiding me through the requirements and procedures to join the world championship. Many teams have contacted me in excitement for our arrival – which has been extremely positive.
Brock and Damon Cohen successfully operated a very competitive two boat team in the Australian Formula Powerboat Grand Prix Series, Formula GP class.
We were very proud of what we had created with our team here. Everything was done in-house, and Brock & I really worked hard to raise the bar both on and off the water. No matter what happens in Portugal with Brock’s results, the fact that we are doing this is an accomplishment in itself.
Brock will be piloting the teams 2017 DAC hull while Damon is focusing on the mechanic role for the two events to close out 2022. Both racers confirmed that they are fully committed to trying to compete for a full season in 2023 as a two-boat team if funding permits.
Brock finished by saying,
We have prepared as best we could while being on the other side of the world. I haven’t seen my new boat yet, but we have four or so days to dig in and get things how we want it and hopefully do some testing. I have a good crew making the trip over and I’m hoping we can be a valuable contributor to the series.
Brock and Damon fly out of Australia next week to meet up with Duarte Benavente from the F1 Atlantic Team to start their UIM F2 World Championship journey. One thing is clear and that is they haven’t flown in just to make up the numbers.
